Working pattern

Part time (Can be done as a job share): Flexible working hours during term time to meet the schedule of the governing body. Meetings are generally held in the evenings, and in most cases, you will be expected to attend in person. In some instances, virtual attendance via Microsoft Teams may be possible. Outside of meetings, this is a flexible, home-based role, allowing you to manage your workload efficiently around other commitments. The schools hold between 5 and 6 Full LGB meetings per year.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual with excellent communication skills to take on the role of Clerk to the Governors. You can apply to work at one or more of our six fantastic Leicestershire based schools.

About the Role:

As Clerk to the Governors, you will play a vital role in supporting our Governors to comply with statutory requirements and best practices. Your work will ensure that Governors’ meetings run smoothly, agendas and relevant documents prepared in advance. During meetings, you will take accurate minutes and keep discussions on track.

Outside of meetings, you will provide administrative support, maintain governance records and develop a strong working knowledge of governance rules and procedures to assist Governors with any queries.

School governors provide strategic direction, oversee financial management and hold the leadership team accountable for delivering the best possible education for all pupils within an inclusive and well-managed learning environment.

No Experience in Governance?
