The roleThis is a new role within the Northamptonshire Cluster at United Learning. This role is to lead on health and safety, support the effective management of estates and building compliance across the cluster. The post-holder will work closely with the Cluster Estates Manager to ensure that the school sites are safe, well-maintained and fully compliant with statutory requirements. During school holiday periods, the role will also provide operational support for site projects, refurbishments works and contractor management.
Flexibility is essential within this role with the opportunity to work from home where appropriate as well as regular, scheduled visits to the sites of the four schools within the cluster.
The Cluster Estates team currently comprises the Estates Manager and Estates Coordinator who work in close partnership with the individual schools’ facilities management teams, senior leadership teams and other cluster-level colleagues.
The Northamptonshire cluster schools are Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Northampton Academy, Campion School and Montsaye Academy.

About You
You will have experience with Health and Safety management and will be responsible for carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks. You will have a desire to attain the highest possible standards in the work that you do. You have excellent organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative and be confident and comfortable in acting as a key point of contact for external auditors, inspectors and enforcement officers (HSE, Fire Service, insurance etc.). You will be able to prioritise your workload effectively and have excellent communication and IT skills and be able to exercise your role with discretion and confidentiality.
A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and IOSH Managing Safely is required plus evidence on ongoing CPD in H&S or estates management.
