Communication Lead (Level 4 Teaching Assistant)
Maternity Cover
3 days Communication Lead/1.5 days classroom support (plus 0.5 days PPA)
Salary: ALT Grade F point 16 (16-19) plus £1500 honorarium
Kind, professional, dynamic, forward-thinking person needed to work in a Cambridgeshire Special School supporting communication skills in children and young adults with additional needs. All of our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan and range from 2 to 25 years of age.
The role involves:
- Working with children with a wide range of communication needs
- Using a range of communication strategies and tools to ensure the best possible progress for every student
- Communicating with staff and parents about progress and next steps
- Delivering training to Teachers and TA's within school
- 1.5 days class support
- Much, much more
Training will be provided as necessary and previous communication specialism is preferred but not essential.
Applicants must:
- Have a good understanding of SEND and experience of working with children with SEND
- Have experience of leading a group of young people with SEND
- Have experience of successfully working with and directing colleagues
- Be passionate about supporting children and young adults in achieving their best outcomes
- Have a calm manner and a positive attitude
