Communications and Collaboration Lead job summary

At Greenshaw Learning Trust, effective communication and collaboration are at the heart of how we work. We believe that when people are well connected, informed and able to share ideas and expertise, everyone benefits and most importantly, our pupils.

We are looking for a Communications and Collaboration Lead to join our team and play an important role in bringing people, information and ideas together across the Trust.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating engaging communications, coordinating projects and events, working with different people and finding practical ways to make communication and collaboration easier.

Working closely with the Head of Communications and Collaboration, you will help deliver high-quality internal communications across GLT, support our schools with their communications needs and maintain the platforms and processes that enable colleagues to work and collaborate effectively.

Your work will include:

  • Creating clear, engaging communications for schools and Trust colleagues on a range of topics, including new schools joining GLT, appointments, projects and launches.
  • Producing the GLT Heads’ Bulletin and Weekly Staff Newsletter, from planning and creating content through to production, distribution and monitoring engagement.
  • Coordinating network bulletins and ensuring content is well organised, accessible and appropriate for different audiences.
  • Managing internal communication channels, mailing lists and digital collaboration tools.
  • Supporting schools and colleagues with communications guidance, templates and practical advice.
  • Using engagement data and feedback to understand what is working and identify ways to improve our communications.
  • Helping communicate the Trust’s strategic priorities and ambitions clearly to colleagues across GLT.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of Trust conferences and networking events, including venues, suppliers, budgets, logistics and presentations.
  • Providing operational support for GLT professional development programmes and subject networks.
  • Managing the Always Learning Platform and associated resources and processes.
  • Creating and adapting content across different channels, including digital content and video.

It is a role where no two days are likely to be quite the same. You will need to be organised and proactive, comfortable managing several priorities at once, and happy to get involved in both the creative and practical sides of communications and collaboration.

About YouWe are looking for someone who can communicate confidently and clearly with a wide range of people and who takes pride in producing accurate, engaging and accessible content.

You will bring experience of writing communications for different audiences and coordinating communications, newsletters, events or similar activity. You will also be comfortable using digital communication and collaboration tools and organising information, resources and shared systems.

You will be:

  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Creative, enthusiastic and proactive in your approach.
  • A confident relationship-builder who enjoys working with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently and using your initiative.
  • Practical and resourceful when solving problems.
  • Open to new ideas and willing to learn and develop.
  • Committed to producing high-quality work and continuously improving how things are done.

Experience of Mailchimp, Google Workspace, online learning platforms, video editing, event coordination or using engagement data to improve communications would be an advantage, although we are also interested in candidates who can demonstrate transferable experience and a willingness to learn.
