Computer Science Teacher job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Computer Science to join our passionate and growing department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher or a more experienced colleague looking to broaden their experience within a high-performing and supportive school community. The post is full time and permanent, and offers genuine opportunities for professional and career development.
Computer Science is a valued and ambitious part of the curriculum at Park High. The successful candidate will join a diverse and multicultural school where high standards, inclusion and aspiration are central to everything we do. Our aim is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in an increasingly digital world, and the subject continues to attract strong uptake and enthusiasm at both GCSE and A Level.
The role will involve teaching Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 where appropriate. Our curriculum spans the breadth of the OCR specification, including programming, algorithms, networks and the ethical dimensions of technology, with a strong emphasis on creativity, problem-solving and real-world application. Experience of teaching the OCR course would be an advantage, though it is not essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons that enable all students to make strong progress, while contributing to the ongoing development of schemes of learning and the wider life of the department. You will use assessment effectively to inform teaching, provide high-quality feedback, maintain accurate records of student progress and support excellent outcomes. You will also promote a love of Computer Science both in the classroom and, where appropriate, through enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities.
As with all teaching roles at Park High, there is an expectation that you will play a full part in the wider life of the school, including the pastoral system. Most staff contribute as tutors, and all staff are committed to supporting students’ wellbeing, personal development and success. You will be joining a school with excellent behaviour for learning, a strong culture of professional development and a clear commitment to staff wellbeing.
If you are passionate about delivering a diverse and ambitious Computer Science curriculum, and about empowering young people to become confident, creative and responsible participants in the digital world, we would love to hear from you.
