Cover Manager – Longsands Academy
Are you an organised and proactive individual with a passion for supporting education? Longsands Academy is seeking a dedicated Cover Manager to ensure the smooth operation of cover arrangements for absent teaching and support staff.

The Role
As the Cover Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to manage and organise cover for absent staff, ensuring continuity in teaching and learning. You will also be responsible for the induction and support of supply staff, maintaining attendance and training records, and liaising with recruitment agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the staff cover system to ensure continuity in teaching and learning.
- Input and maintain staff absence data within Bromcom.
- Oversee the induction of newly appointed cover staff.
- Liaise with supply and recruitment agencies to engage qualified supply staff.
- Organise and provide cover work and materials, including registers and resources.
- Monitor the effectiveness of supply staff and escalate any concerns as needed.
- Advise the Senior Leadership Team on matters relating to cover arrangements.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in the line management and recruitment of staff.
- Experience working with young people and supporting their learning.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships with students, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Proficiency in using IT packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365.
