What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an opportunity to work in our outstanding school as a Cover Supervisor. This is a varied role that will see you working across all departments in the school and is a great opportunity to dip your toe into teaching, and to gain the valuable experience that could launch your teaching career.
You will work in the classroom, delivering lessons across the school to cover for staff absence, and will be supported in this by our experienced colleagues. You will be given training and support, including shadowing experienced teachers and cover supervisors, developing the skills needed to become a confident classroom practitioner.
You will support our curriculum and pastoral teams in a variety of roles that will give you a good understanding of the many aspects of the profession, and we will support you in your career ambitions by offering opportunities that link with your route into teaching, including for example advice on courses and training providers, specific SEND and Safeguarding training, and focussed work within faculty teams.

The Blackdown Education Partnership is a multi-academy trust (MAT) working across Devon and Somerset. It was born of a merger between two established MATs: The Castle Partnership Trust and Uffculme Academy Trust and currently looks after a family of 12 schools: 6 primary and 6 secondary and 4 nurseries.
Blackdown Education Partnership is, therefore, a single organisation established to deliver the education and to safeguard the wellbeing of every child in our Trust. The Trust seeks to ensure that high quality collaboration and system leadership continue to improve the education in our schools. We are responsible for the good governance of the schools within our Trust and are accountable for the performance of each school. We work with an exceptional team of leaders, teachers and support staff whose combined efforts deliver on our promise to believe in every child.
We can offer you: An opportunity to work in an experienced and supportive team from whom you can learn, develop and grow. A friendly, busy and dynamic workplace where each day is different from the last. A competitive salary. Wider opportunities to be involved across our Trust. An energised and professional working environment.
