Cover Supervisor/HLTA job summary
We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join our team here at Skegby Junior Academy!
We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our team to deliver high-quality learning. This role involves covering classes during planned and unplanned absences, including PPA, managing pupil behaviour, and ensuring a positive learning environment to enable every child to be the best they can be, everyday!
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain classroom discipline.
- Liaise with teachers and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning.
- Provide 1:1 mentoring and targeted support to improve pupil attainment.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Assist with all aspects of the school day when classroom cover is not required.

- A dynamic and enthusiastic classroom practitioner.
- Someone who is passionate about making a difference to the everyday lives of our pupils.
- Someone with experience of cover whole classes within KS2.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Effective behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to support attaining great outcomes for our pupils.
Qualifications/Certifications:
Must be educated up to GCSE grade C/4 level in English and mathematics, have a level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent experience.
