Cover Supervisor - Scale 7 (DOE) job summary
The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring that pupils remain engaged, safe and motivated in their learning.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working with primary-aged children.
- Have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have strong behaviour management skills and be able to create a positive learning environment.
- Be confident working across the full primary age range (mainly 7-11 years).
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Be highly motivated, resourceful and committed to ensuring the highest possible standards of achievement, personal development and wellbeing for all pupils.
- Have high expectations and an absolute belief in the potential of every child.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and a commitment to continued professional development.
- Be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Main Duties
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned learning activities.
- Manage pupil behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
- Provide accurate feedback to teachers regarding pupil engagement, progress and behaviour.
- Support pupils' learning, wellbeing and personal development across the school.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for all children.
- Respond appropriately to any issues that arise during lessons, following school policies and procedures.
