What skills and experience we're looking for

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience of coaching sports/ physical activities
  • Experience and competency of using a wide range of information technology application
  • Able to act as a role model for students with a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every chil
  • Commitment to driving up standards and ensuring every child is challenged to achieve their potentia
  • Good numeracy and literacy skill
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Able to use own initiative and work independently and as part of the tea
  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm in difficult situation
  • Good ICT skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • Able to fulfil all aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English

Welcome to Matford Brook Academy, a new all-through school within the Haldon Reach development on the outskirts of Exeter. Our school opened to our first cohort of Year 7 pupils in September 2023. We look forward to welcoming a new Year 7 cohort in September 2024, as well as opening to our first Reception pupils and our dedicated Nursery and Preschool.
