Cover Supervisor job summary

Are you looking for a career in a thriving, friendly and supportive standalone academy where staff welfare is a priority? Are you passionate about young people and committed to unlocking their potential in an academy that has high expectations of everyone?

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor, dedicated to ensuring our students engage in learning and are motivated to undertake activities. You will have a natural ability to connect with our students and colleagues, maintaining order in the classroom, and be happy to support us in other duties during non-cover periods.

Previous experience in a teaching or similar role is useful but not essential and this role could suit someone wishing to gain experience in an educational environment as part of their development.

We can offer you the opportunity to work with a dedicated and committed team of colleagues who achieve exceptional outcomes from all year groups. Whatever your career stage, you will be supported to develop your skills, so that our students are able to excel.

We would be delighted to take you on a tour of the school and give you the opportunity to meet us and answer any questions you may have.

As Cover Supervisor, you will be welcomed into an experienced team of professionals to:

  • Cover lessons as required and manage student conduct
  • Respond to questions from students and assist them to undertake set activities
  • Assist with administration, behaviour and classroom tasks when not covering lessons
  • Assist with student supervision at break time when on rota
  • Contribute to the running of school clubs and other organised events such as Sports Day

  • Career development with a bespoke CPD programme
  • Excellent newly refurbished teaching facilities with free onsite parking and good local public transport links
  • Close proximity to beaches and the Jurassic Coast to assist your work life balance
  • Employee Assistance Programme and Cycle to Work scheme
