Cover Supervisor job summary

The Oaks Academy are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to supervise whole classes of students and ensure that set work is completed in the absence of the teacher. Cover is provided for the short-term absence of teaching staff so that an effective and tailored school policy to cover is delivered.

The role will include:

  • Supervision of whole classes in the absence of a teacher
  • Deliver lessons across a range of subjects following the plans left by the class teacher
  • Keeping the children on task for the work they have been set and ensure it is completed
  • Maintaining a purposeful learning environment in the classroom
  • Provision of in class support and assisting if students have any questions
  • Working with small groups of students or individually on a one-to-one basis.
  • To support students in and outside of the classroom

The successful candidate will be a team player. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and be organised.

    Hours: 32.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8:15 until 15:15

    Weeks: 39 weeks

    Contract: Temporary until 31.12.26, with the view to make permanent.

    Actual salary: £21,841 (Grade 6 pro rata - FTE 0.76)

It includes Congleton High School, The Oaks Academy, Black Firs Primary School, Castle Primary School, The Knutsford Academy, The Knutsford Studio, Edgerton Primary School and Sir William Stanier.

TOA joined TLA on 1st September 2020 and will continue the journey of school improvement in this partnership.
