Curriculum Leader for English Mainscale – UPS plus T and L point on Nunnery range (approx. £9k) This post offers an excellent opportunity to lead Nunnery Wood’s outstanding and high-achieving English department. English staff are forward thinking, collaborative and ambitious for all students within our broad ability range. Results have been superb over a considerable period of time and both progress and attainment scores are significantly above national averages. English is respected highly by students and this is demonstrated by their exemplary effort and focus when in the dedicated English block. The school’s most recent Ofsted report praised, “pupils’ excellent conduct around the academy and the respect they show teachers and each other,” also describing their personal development as, “outstanding”. Progress 8 has been in the “well above average” category for several years and we performed equally well against other measures. As a result, we enjoy an excellent reputation in the community and we are oversubscribed. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who is committed to improving students experience and attainment through working collaboratively and progressively with an established and accomplished team. Nunnery Wood High School is an academy in Worcester, Worcestershire, England. It is a co-educational school and a Science College with about 1500 students on roll aged from 11 to 16. In 1983 following a restructuring of schools in Worcestershire the Nunnery Wood Secondary School was renamed Nunnery Wood High School.

The school campus is located on the edge of Worcester, surrounded by some 15 acres (61,000 m2) of gardens and playing fields which it shares with the adjacent Sixth Form College. The school benefits from refurbished or purpose built extensions including facilities for Science, English, Music, Art & Design, Languages and ICT. The school’s sports centre has an all-weather outdoor pitch and athletics track.
