Data Manager and Admissions Co-Ordinator job summary
Vacancy for a Data Manager and Admissions co-ordinator
Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 8, Point 19-24
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30-16:30 and Friday 08:30-16:00. 42 weeks per year.
The Opportunity
- Manage and maintain accurate records for all student data
- Collate, organise, and provide effective, clear student progress data to teachers, leaders, and parents
- Prepare SIMS for the new academic year including the bulk input of student data and maintain changes as required throughout the year
- Develop the use of SIMS and support staff in their day-to-day use of the system
- To provide data support to the Examinations Officer
- Continue to develop the use of data within the school, nationally, locally and within Meridian Trust, to raise student achievement
- Produce the school census returns and support with the annual school workforce return ensuring the accuracy of data and timely submission
- Co-ordinate admissions, preparing and distributing starter packs, ensure a full return of paperwork and set up of records on the School’s management system
- Manage and maintain the admissions / leavers database, using SIMS and the other related software packages
- Working with the pastoral team arrange a smooth transition for students leaving the school during an academic year and ensuring all records/accounts are closed and student records/files are transferred to the next school
- Co-ordinate pupil references for pupils transferring to independent schools when references are requested
- Act in accordance with legal provisions regulating confidentiality and security of data and information in accordance with GDPR regulations
The ideal candidate
- Have a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths
- Appropriate qualification or experience in handling and processing of data
- Experience in working in an administrative environment, ideally within an educational setting
- Knowledge of GDPR legislation and the measures involved in using and storing highly sensitive personal data
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use email, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Be a team player, with a ‘can do’ solution focused attitude
- Ability to act on own initiative
- Possess outstanding communication skills and personal integrity
- Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality
