Data Officer job summary

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

We are looking for a Data Officer to coordinate all aspects of information and data management in the academy, including preparation of timetables and maintenance of student and staff records in order to ensure the availability of accurate and meaningful data. This is a key position in the development of efficient and reliable data gathering systems and procedures for the academy.

About you

You'll bring previous experience of working with and interpreting data, ideally along with successful experience of working in a school environment, and you'll hold GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths and an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant vocational subject and/or proven practical work experience.

Accuracy matters enormously here, so we're looking for someone with high attention to detail who takes personal accountability for the quality of their work. You'll be confident in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, aware of data protection legislation, and able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. You'll also be a clear and approachable communicator, comfortable explaining systems to colleagues who aren't data specialists, and well organised enough to manage competing deadlines and thrive under the pressure that busy periods in the school calendar can bring.
