A unique opportunity has arisen for an aspirant school leader. Breadsall Hill Top Primary has recently appointed a new Head Teacher to start in September 2025. We are seeking to appoint a new Deputy Head Teacher to support our leadership capacity and help to further develop our rapid improvement.
We are looking for a leader who is also an excellent teaching practitioner with, not only high expectations of pupil progress, but also a drive for self-development.
The successful applicant will be joining our team and play a key role in our two-form entry school, not only in raising attainment, but most importantly helping our children to be happy, safe and secure and creating great memories for them.
In October 2021, BHTP was judged by Ofsted as a Good school so you would be joining Breadsall at an exciting time as we continue to work hard to be the school of choice for our community, provide our children with the highest quality education that enables them to fulfil their potential, discover new talents and develop a love for learning and work towards being a centre of excellence.
We are looking for an inspirational leader who is committed to supporting the Head Teacher and the leadership team develop the strategic vision and is driven by improving the outcomes for all BHTP children. You will:
- Have a proven track record in leading others and strategic change
- Take personal and collective responsibility for ensuring that BHTP achieves its strategic plans and objectives
- Support and drive organisational change

- Show evidence of clear analytical thinking and get to the heart of complex problems and issues
- Be a consistently good or better primary teacher with secure evidence-based understanding of what makes great teaching.
- Be reflective, enjoy challenge and embrace support.
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and driven by making a difference to every child.
- Care passionately about children and their holistic development whilst still driving forward pupil progress and achievement.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build on and maintain strong relationships with staff, parents and carers, children, governors and the local and wider community.
- Behave consistently with clear personal values that complement those of BHTP
