Deputy Headteacher job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an inspiring leader. Due to the promotion of our present Deputy Headteacher, we are looking to appoint a new Deputy Headteacher to join our popular Junior school.

We are seeking an outstanding teacher and leader to join our senior leadership team. This is an excellent career progression opportunity for someone passionate about making a significant impact on teaching and learning, school culture, and leadership development.
This is an out-of-class leadership role with some teaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Headteacher: Work closely with the Headteacher to implement the school's vision and strategic objectives
- DSL Team: Be part of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) team, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children.
- Teaching and Learning Leadership: Lead initiatives to enhance teaching practices, curriculum development, and student outcomes.
- Staff Development: Support the professional growth of some staff, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and student teachers, providing coaching, professional development, and constructive feedback.
- Performance Management: Take responsibility for performance managing some staff at different levels across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and leadership.
- Be an active participant of the school’s senior management team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Shares our child-centred approach and will help to nurture all our pupils to be the best they can be.
- Has teaching and leadership experience and is looking to develop those skills further.
- Is invested in our school and looking to make a long term impact, coupled with the drive and enthusiasm to help us develop further.
- Can help to shape and share our vision and ethos.
- Can both lead and support our staff to further develop their practice.
- Has the knowledge, experience, and organisational skills to support the Headteacher in the smooth running of the school.
- Above all you are adaptable, creative, and energetic, with a high level of integrity as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and build positive relationships at all levels with a wide range of professionals.
