The Ideal Candidate

Has a proven track record of successful leadership as either an Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher in a secondary setting

Demonstrates outstanding knowledge of teaching and learning pedagogy

Has experience of leading whole-school improvement initiatives

Is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills

Has a clear commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing

Has experience in timetable creation and is able to allocate staffing resource efficiently and effectively

The Governors at Shuttleworth College are seeking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Headteacher responsible for Curriculum to join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the teaching and learning across the College.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader to drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring that every student is inspired, challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for teaching, learning and curriculum development
  • Lead on improving classroom practice through coaching, CPD and evidence-informed approaches
  • Drive high standards of assessment, feedback and progress for all learners
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders, heads of department and teaching staff
  • Champion inclusive practice and high expectations across the College
