What skills and experience we're looking for

Who We Are Looking For

You are an experienced senior leader with a proven track record in raising standards and leading inclusive practices. You do not need to know BSL to apply, but you must share our passion for deaf education and demonstrate a firm commitment to learning BSL.

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusive Recruitment

James Wolfe is a proud, highly diverse community school, and we want our staff team to reflect the rich diversity of the pupils and families we serve. We actively welcome and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, identities, and abilities. Whether you bring experience from multi-site settings, specialist provisions, or mainstream primary education, if you share our values and vision for total inclusion, we want to hear from you.

You will bring:

  • Proven management and leadership experience in a primary setting.

  • Extensive experience in leading inclusion, SEND, and vulnerable pupil cohorts.

  • Strong operational skills to manage day-to-day school life

  • A proactive, reflective commitment to driving anti-discriminatory practice—continuously reflecting on your own practice, challenging bias, and ensuring our curriculum meaningfully reflects and celebrates the diverse world our children live in.

  • High expectations for all learners, with the drive to close achievement gaps.

  • Outstanding communication skills to engage our diverse families across two campuses.

What the school offers its staff

We Offer You:

  • A welcoming, supportive, and dedicated team across two campuses.

  • The opportunity to work with incredible, proud, and enthusiastic children.

  • Dedicated leadership time

  • Comprehensive professional development, including paid BSL training.
