What skills and experience we're looking for
Thank you for your interest in the Deputy Headteacher vacancy at Plantation Primary School. The role is to work alongside the Executive Headteacher and Inclusion Deputy Headteacher to lead Teaching and Learning across the school from 1st of September.
The successful applicant will be ambitious, confident and capable. They will have an excellent understanding of the curriculum, pedagogy and all aspects of learning. They will be able to support our hardworking staff to deliver a world class education with excellent outcomes for our pupils.
This is a larger than average school which is growing, the post has no class responsibility but will involve some teaching responsibility related to team teaching and mentoring and supporting others.
Pupils at the school are well behaved, caring and love to play their part in the life and leadership of the school. Staff are hardworking, caring and dedicated – workload and wellbeing is very important to us for all staff.

- Successful teaching experience within the primary phase.
- Experience of leadership at middle or senior level (e.g. Assistant Headteacher, Phase Leader)
- Experience of whole-school curriculum leadership
- Proven impact on raising pupil attainment and progress
- Experience of analysing data and using it to inform future practice and drive improvement
- Experience of monitoring teaching and learning, including lesson observation and feedback
- Experience of leading whole-school initiatives or improvement priorities
- Experience of working with vulnerable pupils (SEND, disadvantaged, EAL)
