What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Deputy SENCO to join this successful school with this opportunity to play a vital role in the further development of a key area of the school. You will have a track record for achieving excellence in working with children with a broad range of differing needs and will possess the vision, creativity, experience, and energy to lead and enhance the successes of this specialist area. The SEND department is in the heart of the school, working very closely with the teaching and learning team to foster an inclusive environment for students with SEN needs.
Thamesmead is a vibrant school. We are located in Shepperton, a ‘suburban village’ situated in a pleasant area of to the West of London in attractive grounds within 300 yards of the River Thames, with good rail and road access. Our students attain high results in many areas of the curriculum and extra curricular activities are a strength of the school.

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available. Thamesmead is a vibrant and successful school. In 2019 our students gained strong GCSE results. 85% of students gained a 4 grade or higher in English and Maths and 58% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. 83% achieved 5 GCSEs or more graded at 4 or above.
