Design Technology Apprentice (Secondary) job summary
Our Lady of the Magnificat MAC are looking to recruit a Design Technology Apprentice on a fixed term one year contract, working 37 hours per week for 52 weeks per year. This role will be based at St Augustine’s Catholic High School.
The apprenticeship provider is Hopwood Hall College, and the successful candidate will complete a one year Level 2 apprenticeship.
All hours will be completed at the school (no day release). There is potential for the candidate to progress on to Level 3 after completion of level 2.
The successful candidate will:
- Works under broad direction and laid down procedures.
- Under direction from the Head of Department, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
- Contributes to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
- To support the teaching of technology, and under the overall direction of the Head of Department.
- Provide support and advice service and meet health and safety standards and the requirements of classes involved.

Saint Augustine’s Catholic High School was established in 1974 by the Archdiocese of Birmingham to serve the needs of Catholic families living in Redditch, Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas and families of all beliefs. We currently have 945 students on roll in the 13-19 age range. Approximately 34% of our students and 25% of our staff are Catholic. We pride ourselves on being a Catholic school for all.
