What skills and experience we're looking for

At Bridgwater College Academy, we are seeking an inspiring and skilled Design & Technology Teacher, with the ability to teach Food Technology, to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on Food Technology. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop creativity, technical skills, and an understanding of nutrition, health, and food preparation, preparing them for life beyond the classroom.

You will play a key role in delivering a broad and balanced DT curriculum, encouraging innovation, problem-solving, and independence in a well-equipped learning environment.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to deliver high-quality DT lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
  • The energy, creativity, and resilience to bring learning to life
  • A team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to contribute to a supportive and high-performing department
  • A belief that every child can succeed, and that great teaching makes it possible

We welcome applications from qualified teachers who have successfully completed their statutory induction period. Unfortunately, we are not currently able to support ECT induction for this post.
