What skills and experience we're looking for

The Priory City of Lincoln Academy are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Designated Safeguarding Lead as a non-teaching member of the Senior Leadership Team.

The Non-Teaching Designated Safeguarding Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating safeguarding and child protection procedures across the school, ensuring that all concerns relating to the welfare of pupils are identified, recorded, managed, and referred appropriately. The role requires working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, staff, external agencies, parents, and carers to promote a culture of safeguarding and ensure compliance with statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Candidates should have significant safeguarding experience, a thorough understanding of child protection legislation and best practice, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. DSL training and ongoing safeguarding professional development are essential requirements of the role. There will be leadership responsibility for the Safeguarding and Attendance Team, working closely with the Deputy Headteacher of Culture and Inclusion, Headteacher as well as the Trust Safeguarding Lead.

The DSL will sit on the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to role related whole school development, as well as reporting to senior leaders, Trust colleagues and the Local Governing Body. The Salary will be dependent on experience.
