What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to the post of Director of Business Studies who ideally also has the capability to teach Travel & Tourism as a second subject area with confidence.

Stockport School is a very popular over-subscribed school with year-on-year improving results and our Business Studies Department is a very popular, creative and successful one. In addition to the leading upon Business Studies throughout the school, we are seeking a post-holder who also has the ability, experience and confidence to be able to contribute to the teaching of Travel & Tourism through to success at Key Stage 4.

This role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to help lead a very popular and very successful Business Studies Department and to gain excellent professional development and further opportunity as they progress in their career.

Applicants are required to be well-organised, inspirational teachers, with strong leadership qualities, who are passionate about their subject. You will be able to work independently and in liaison with other colleagues in order to create a high level of challenge for a range of learners in every lesson and support the on-going development of this high-achieving department.

The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday, 7th October 2024, although the school reserves the right to close the deadline sooner dependent upon applications.
