The Blue Kite Academy Trust is seeking a dynamic Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a pivotal role in shaping the Trust’s financial future. This is a great opportunity to join a values-driven Trust at an exciting stage in our development. You will be a key member of the Trust’s Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO and other Leaders to develop and implement strategy and to resource and deliver the organisation’s strategic objectives sustainably.
We are looking for a Director of Finance who can demonstrate the following qualities:
Exhibits the highest standards of probity and integrity at all times.
- A collaborative and approachable leader who builds strong working relationships and embraces new systems and processes to optimise ways of working.
- A strong understanding of the education sector, ideally gained through a senior executive role within another Multi Academy Trust and/or Local Authority Education team.
- A strategic thinker who can produce accurate and insightful papers for the CEO and Trustees and articulate complex financial information with clarity.
- A leader with a can-do attitude who views finance as an enabler rather than a barrier, and who applies creative and innovative thinking to strategic planning and problem solving.
- Always remains calm, measured and well-organised, yet authoritative and decisive when required.
You will lead our central finance team with an emphasis on a proactive and customer-focused service. As well as ensuring the financial health of our organisation, you will bring experience of lateral thinking when it comes to realising the financial opportunities that we have within our Trust.
The Director of Finance is directly responsible to the Chief Executive Officer, who is the Accounting Officer for the Trust, and is ultimately responsible for the proper financial conduct of the institution. You will provide advice on strategic financial issues and be responsible for financial management and for the leadership and management.
