What skills and experience we're looking for
Experience
- Led whole school Personal Development and/or safeguarding for at least three years at senior leadership Assistant Principal level or equivalent.
- Proven record in delivering excellent results as a classroom teacher or in role as senior leader.
- Experience of more than one school
- Experience of identifying, implementing, monitoring and evaluating effective strategies for improving school’s personal development offer.
- Experience of leading, coaching and mentoring as well as delivering staff training
- Experience of resolving complex problems and situations successfully in school
- Experience of working across phases in at least three of the following EYFS, KS1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Knowledge and Skills
- Up to date knowledge of legislation relating to all aspects of Safeguarding, Personal Development and hands on experience of delivery of PSHE/RSHE.
- Up to date knowledge of the Ofsted framework in all areas of Personal Development and Safeguarding.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to consider both the detail and the ‘bigger picture’
- Self-motivated and resilient
- Effective team worker and leader
- Have a strong interest in transition.
- Love enrichment and opportunities to develop character
- Sees SMSC education as an opportunity and not a bolt on.
- Have a highly effective style that is both consultative and influential
- Strong emotional intelligence
