Driver/Catering Assistant job summary

This is a part time role based at our purpose built catering facility in Kirton, 20 hours per week working 10am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, with 30 mins unpaid break, term time [39 weeks per year].

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To prepare and deliver food as instructed by the Catering Manager/Kitchen Supervisor to the defined standards and quality working within DFE guidelines regarding current health, safety and hygiene legislation and the trust Health and Safety Policy, with the aim of achieving high standards of customer care whilst ensuring the provision of good quality food.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS AND DUTIES:

  • Assist in food preparation and general cooking tasks
  • Transporting meals
  • Ensuring supplies are stored in accordance with catering standards
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the catering area in accordance with catering and food hygiene standards and legislation
  • Undertake cleaning of kitchen equipment and area
