Main Purpose of the Role:
To deliver high-quality teaching and learning to pupils, ensuring all children make progress academically, socially, and emotionally. You will contribute to the life of the school as a reflective, committed, and professional practitioner, supported through a robust induction and mentoring programme.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching and Learning
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
Set high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, and personal development
Use a range of inclusive teaching strategies to support individual needs and learning styles
Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils
Create a positive learning environment where pupils feel safe, challenged, and supported
Classroom and Behaviour Management
Maintain an organised, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a calm and productive classroom climate
Promote the school’s values, vision, and ethos in all interactions
Professional Development
Engage fully in the school’s ECT induction programme
Work closely with an assigned mentor and take responsibility for ongoing self-development
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews
Collaboration and Contribution
Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, assess, and moderate work
Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and wider stakeholders
Contribute to wider school activities, including clubs, events, and school improvement initiatives
Safeguarding and Welfare
Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct
Promote the wellbeing of all pupils and contribute to a safe, inclusive school culture
