Are you an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Early Years practitioner looking to make a lasting difference in the lives of young children? St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is seeking a skilled Early Childhood Educator to join our early years team, initially leading and delivering high-quality education and care within our 2-year-old provision.
Hours - 32.5 per week - Monday to Friday - 7:30 am to 2:30pm OR 10:30am to 5:30pm
Term time only plus 5 additional days
About the Role
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences aligned with the EYFS framework, with a strong focus on the prime areas of learning for our youngest pupils. Working under the guidance of the Early Years Lead, you will create a secure, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children aged 2 and above can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspire & Educate: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging learning programmes across all EYFS areas.
Targeted Support: Deliver targeted small-group interventions (such as language development and social skills) and provide tailored support for children with SEND or EAL.
Personal Care & Well-being: Support children’s physical, emotional, and personal care needs, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor Early Childhood Practitioners, apprentices, and students in the setting.
Partnership: Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to support smooth transitions and home learning.
Ethos: Actively support, promote, and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school and St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Academy Trust.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a proactive and reflective educator who holds:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 4 or above is desirable).
GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent).
Proven experience working with children aged 2-5 in an EYFS nursery or school-based setting.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
A commitment to inclusive practice and promoting the faith-based values of our school community (you do not need to be Catholic, but must be supportive of our ethos).
