Early years foundation stage teaching assistant job summary

The role

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to deliver high-quality education and care. They will help to create an engaging, inclusive and language-rich environment in which children feel safe, develop confidence and thrive.

The core working hours are 8:15am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday. We are particularly interested in applicants who are also willing to undertake additional paid hours within our wraparound provision, operating from 7:30am to 8:30am and 3:00pm to 5:30pm. The precise pattern of any additional hours will be agreed separately.

We are looking for someone who -
  • holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • has recent experience of working effectively within an EYFS setting
  • understands child development and the statutory EYFS framework
  • is warm, patient and skilled at building secure relationships with young children
  • can support communication, language, early literacy and early mathematics
  • is committed to inclusion and supporting children with additional needs
  • works well with parents, carers and colleagues
  • is committed to safeguarding, professional learning and high expectations
  • is flexible and willing to support wraparound care where agreed
