Early Years Practitioner (Fixed Term) job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioners to join our nursery team at Manor Community Primary School. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will play a key role in helping every child to feel valued, engaged, and confident, both in the nursery and beyond. Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across the classroom under the direction of the EYFS lead
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence
- Adapt support to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence in learning
- Contribute to pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing
- Prepare, set up and clear away learning resources and classroom materials
- Support play-based and practical learning activities
- Assist with supervision during break and lunchtimes where required
- Records basic pupil data, observations and learning evidence
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately
- Support pupils with personal care needs (e.g. toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating) in line with school guidance.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a full and relevant DfE qualification at Level 3 such as Level 3 Early Years Educator (or equivalent) with practical skills
- Is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
- Builds strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach
- Works effectively as part of a team while also using initiative
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is committed to inclusion and ensuring every child can succeed
- Shows enthusiasm, flexibility, and a willingness to learn
- Has good literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
