Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant job summary
We are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Manor Community Primary School. As an SEN Teaching Assistant in the Early Years, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, enabling pupils to engage fully with learning and develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships. This is a role where no two days are the same - and where your impact will be felt every day.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Support the delivery of planned learning activities, adapting approaches to meet individual pupil needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, evaluate and review pupil progress
- Assist in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil attainment and behaviour
- Provide clear, supportive feedback to pupils to encourage progress and independence
- Prepare and organise learning resources to support lessons and interventions
- Promote pupils’ social, emotional and mental wellbeing
- Support inclusive practice and ensure all pupils can access learning opportunities
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, families, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, respectful and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils with personal care, health and wellbeing needs where required
- Assist with breaktime supervision, educational visits, and wider school activities

We are looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about supporting children with SEND to achieve their potential
- Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Demonstrates patience, empathy and a nurturing approach
- Works effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative
- Has strong communication skills and can build positive relationships with children and adults
- Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils
- Has good literacy, numeracy and basic ICT skills
- Is reliable, flexible and resilient, with a positive and proactive attitude
- Is motivated to continue learning and developing professionally
