Your setting receives £400 per day (inclusive of travel associated with training and delivery)

What skills and experience we're looking for


- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification

- Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS, including prime/specific learning areas, safeguarding, and assessment expectations

- Minimum 3 years' experience as a childminder or in a childminder setting (or recent childminder experience if currently in a group-based setting or Local Authority role)

- Currently working in an early years setting rated Ofsted 'Good' or 'Outstanding' (or expected standard under new framework) with children aged 0–4

- Leadership experience within early years provision

- Experience mentoring or coaching childminders, assistants, or educators and modelling best practice

- Able to communicate effectively across both face-to-face and virtual settings to suit different learning styles.

- Able to partner closely with the EYSPA Lead, local authorities, and peer childminders to raise standards across the sector

Tyneside Early Years Hub are looking to recruit a Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser (EYSPA) for Childminder Provision to help make a real difference to young children's development and wellbeing across our region. Delivered via the Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs (EYSPH) as part of the Department for Education's Best Start in Life Strategy, this role empowers you to provide peer-to-peer coaching, build professional confidence, and support childminders who need targeted guidance to thrive. Every child deserves the best start in life.Building on the proven impact of the DfE’s previous Experts and Mentors programme, the Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser (EYSPA) programme offers targeted peer coaching to eligible childminders and settings. As a Childminder EYSPA, you will support a dedicated cluster of four childminders per term, building trusting relationships and helping them embed evidence-informed, sustainable improvements.
