Early Years Teacher - Early Years Lead job summary
The successful applicant will;
• have a passion and experience for the EYFS
• promote high quality adult communication interactions that will support children in developing and demonstrating their learning across a range of contexts
• have vision for the future development of curriculum in school, and know how to lead this
• have a track record of delivering exciting EYFS provision and developing the children’s love of learning
• have a detailed professional knowledge of EYFS, including an understanding of the knowledge, progression of early childhood development, under the new EYFS Reform.
• lead the development and implementation of the EYFS curriculum
• demonstrate effective planning and provision across the EYFS, modelling outstanding practice and coach, mentor and disseminate examples of ‘good practice’ to peers
• be flexible and passionate about ensuring all staff are motivated to work effectively with pupils to achieve their personal best
• promote the school’s values and engage with parents, carers and the wider community; assisting parents to supporting their children’s learning including transition and admissions work
• have extremely high expectations of themselves and learners –promoting and modelling behaviour for learning resulting in excellent progress and positive outcomes for every pupil
• have subject leadership experience/responsibilities and be able to demonstrate having supported whole school improvement
• actively participate in the setting and evaluate children’s development alongside performance data to inform whole school and individual pupil targets.
• lead staff in; planning deliberate learning activities and regular review of progress, implementing change, ensuring high levels of attainment
• moderate and ‘use’ formative assessment (including observation and interaction) to plan learning opportunities to support the development of children’s next steps and identify those who need additional teaching opportunities
• create outstanding environments designed to promote active, independent and enquiring learning, including inspiring outdoor provision
• Support the pastoral care of pupils and have high expectations of pupil attainment, behaviour, personal development and well-being.
• be able to lead a team of teachers and support staff by creating, maintaining and enhancing effective relationships with the ability to challenge, empower, inspire and motivate others
• work as part of a team and as team leader, communicating effectively with staff, children and parents.
• Actively engage with parents, other adults and support them in developing learning activities with their children
• have an understanding and commitment to safeguarding and will contribute to the schools child protection procedures
