St. Leonard’s Church of England Primary School and Nursery is located in the beautiful village of Wigginton, where we have very strong community links.

Our children enjoy school and are very keen and enthusiastic leaners. Behaviour across the school is excellent and our parents are extremely supportive. The school is oversubscribed and we have approximately 140 pupils based in 5 classes. The school has benefitted from significant investment from the Diocese to expand and improve the school building and grounds. We have a very experienced and friendly team of staff and governors.

The school received an excellent Ofsted report in July 2022 where the school was judged to be 'Good' with Personal Development and Early Years Provision being judged to be 'Outstanding'.

Our SIAMs inspection in May 2023 graded the school as Excellent. Our report highlighted our shared Christian vision, and associated values, and how they profoundly underpin the whole life and work of the school.

Our vision is to be an outstanding church school, guided by God, where learning is irresistible, achievement is high and our pupils leave us as independent successful learners, happy, confident individuals and caring, responsible citizens, excited by challenge, change and possibility.
