What skills and experience we're looking for
Hunloke Park Primary School are looking to appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant that is caring, enthusiastic, and committed, to join our Early Years team from 5th May 2026 with an increase in hours from September 2026 to 34 hours and 10 minutes.
To support high-quality Early Years education by working alongside the Early Years team and wider school to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. The role focuses on promoting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
To be successful in this role you will have experience working with young children and in an early years primary setting, along with SEN experience. You will also have an understanding of the EYFS framework and child development, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
We are looking for someone who is warm and patient, with a nurturing approach, has commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare, will support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences across all EYFS areas of learning, support children with personal care needs when required, maintaining dignity and respect, contribute to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for children and families, communicate professionally with parents and carers when appropriate, following school procedures and provide targeted support for children with additional needs, following individual plans and guidance from the SENCO.
Essential:
Level 3 Early Years Qualification, which is UK approved as full and relevant by the Department for Education

Suitable Level 2 Qualification in English or equivalent
Desirable:
Experience supporting children with SEND.
Paediatric First Aid training.
Knowledge of behaviour-support strategies and early intervention approaches.
Safer Eating and Safer Sleep training.
DFE Early Years and child development training
