Maths at Notley
Our students are rising to real challenge. This year our sixth formers took on the UK Senior Mathematical Challenge, a demanding national paper of problem-solving and reasoning sat by tens of thousands of students. Only around a third of entrants receive a certificate, and Gold goes to roughly the top 10% nationally.
Our students achieved 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze certificates, and our two Gold winners now progress to the next round. You will join a department that is ambitious for every student, from those securing their grade 4 and 5 to those competing nationally.
Your team
You will join a friendly, collaborative maths team where colleagues plan together, share ideas and look out for one another. Our Head of Department is an experienced leader and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, so maths has a strong voice in the school and you will be well supported from day one.
Your own classroom, so you can make it yours from the start
A shared bank of high-quality, ready-to-use resources and schemes of work, so your time goes on teaching rather than starting from scratch
Colleagues who welcome you into their lessons and value what new teachers bring
What we offer
A 1st July start: paid over the summer, so you meet your classes and colleagues and begin September settled and confident
A full two-year induction under the Early Career Framework, with a reduced timetable
A dedicated, trained mentor and a structured programme of weekly professional development
Teaching across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to work with our Sixth Form
Clear, consistent behaviour systems that let you focus on teaching
The wider development and career pathways of Bridge Academy Trust’s 11 schools
