Are you a resilient, empathetic, and dedicated individual who believes every student deserves the chance to thrive? We are looking for an exceptional Engagement Support Worker to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of students who face barriers to their learning and engagement.

As our Engagement Support Worker, you will be a key figure in our mission to support student success. You will work directly with a caseload of students who require additional support to overcome social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. Your goal will be to re-engage these students, build their confidence, and help them integrate successfully back into mainstream school life. You won't just be managing behaviour; you'll be building relationships and changing lives. Under the direction of the Engagement Support Team Leader (ESTL), the Engagement Support Worker (ESW) will help to run The Hub. The Hub is a space used for students who are out of circulation or in internal exclusion. The Hub also runs interventions to help meet the needs of identified students which contributes to more effective learning through improved behaviour and social skills. In this role, the ESW will also support the attendance team in removing barriers to Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Mentoring and supporting a caseload of identified students to improve their attendance, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Developing and delivering targeted interventions and support programmes, both one-to-one and in small groups.
  • Targeted Family support work to improve a student’s attendance to school.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and teaching staff to create a strong support network.
  • Acting as a trusted advocate for students, liaising with external agencies where necessary.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and a restorative culture across the school.
  • Keeping accurate records to track student progress and the impact of interventions.
