Exam Invigilator job summary

Exam Invigilators - Links Academy Trust

We are looking to recruit Exam Invigilators to join our existing team within Links Academy Trust and work with us during our schools’ exam periods.

Applicants must be willing and able to work across both of our Trust sites in St Albans and Hatfield. Flexibility to travel between sites may therefore be required.

Candidates must be confident in dealing with young people, including children with behavioural and emotional difficulties, and be able to remain calm and professional under pressure. We are looking for responsible and reliable people with good communication skills who can work either whole or part-day sessions.

Applicants are required to be flexible with their working hours and committed to supporting children during what can be a stressful time for them. No previous exam invigilation experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.

Employment will be on a casual basis throughout the year, with work offered during exam periods and other assessment sessions as required.

A good sense of humour, enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment are essential. The ability to “keep your head when all about you are losing theirs” is highly recommended! The ability to work effectively as part of a team is also vital.

The successful candidates will need to have the confidence, patience and interpersonal skills required to work with our children, including those who may present with challenging behaviour or require additional support.

If you are reliable, adaptable and enjoy working with young people, we would love to hear from you.

We reserve the right to appoint at any stage during the recruitment process.

Applicants are required to have numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE grades 9-4 (A-C). If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be asked to bring your original qualification certificates with you.

We are recognised as a ‘School of Character’ and encourage Responsibility, Respect and Resilience. These are characteristics we expect of all of our students and staff regardless of their role within the school.

The Links Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We will also require two appropriate references. As part of the recruitment process on line checks will be carried out on shortlisted candidates.
