St. Cuthbert’s RC High School is currently seeking dedicated and reliable Exam Invigilators to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our thriving school community and contribute to the smooth running of examinations, ensuring students have the best possible environment to achieve their full potential.

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a crucial role in upholding exam regulations and maintaining the integrity of the assessment process. Working under the direction of the Examinations Officer, you will be responsible for supervising students during exams, distributing and collecting papers, ensuring exam conditions are met, and providing support to students in accordance with examination guidelines. You will work closely with other invigilators and school staff to ensure that all exams run efficiently and fairly.

We Are Seeking an Individual Who:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Exam Invigilator who is passionate about supporting students and ensuring a fair and secure examination process. The successful candidate will:

Core Purpose:

To support the Exams Officer in ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of all internal and external examinations, upholding the integrity of the examination process, and ensuring every student has an equal opportunity to perform at their best.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Exams Officer in the preparation, administration, and delivery of exams.
  • Ensure that all examinations are conducted in line with Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations and school policies.
  • Maintain a calm, secure, and compliant examination environment.
  • Supervise students during exams, ensuring they follow regulations and uphold exam integrity.
  • Monitor candidates throughout the exam, minimising disruptions and preventing malpractice.
  • Securely handle and distribute exam materials before, during, and after exams.
  • Report any concerns, suspicions of malpractice, or administrative errors to the Exams Officer or Headteacher.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify and register candidates before exams.
  • Supervise candidates during rest and clash breaks, ensuring proper conduct.
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed when exams run into extra time.
  • Maintain a visible, professional presence in the exam hall and wider school environment.
  • Ensure the correct collection and secure return of all exam scripts and materials.

Other Duties:

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training as required.
  • Actively participate in the staff appraisal process to enhance performance.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Exams Officer or Headteacher.
