Examinations Manager job summary

Norton Canes High School is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Examinations Manager to lead and coordinate all internal and external examinations across the school. What We’re Looking For:
- Experience managing examinations or a similar function within an educational setting
- Extensive understanding of the examinations process and regulatory requirements
- Strong organisational, planning and prioritising skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate well to students, parents and staff
- Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of invigilators
- Methodical, accurate and able to work under pressure
- Confident working independently and solving problems proactively
- A relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 4, Certificate in School Business Management) or equivalent experience
What the Role Involves:
- Managing the full examinations cycle for GCSEs, A Levels, BTECs and internal assessments
- Recruiting, training and supervising invigilators
- Preparing exam timetables, seating plans, resources and examination rooms
- Liaising with exam boards, staff, students and parents
- Overseeing arrangements for students with access needs in partnership with SENCO
- Maintaining secure storage, distribution and dispatch of exam papers and scripts
- Managing entries, results, enquiries and data returns accurately and on time
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of exam regulations and ensuring full compliance
