What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you an exceptionally organised and meticulous professional with deep knowledge of examination procedures and data management systems? Do you thrive in a high-stakes environment where accuracy and adherence to national regulations are paramount to student success?

The purpose of this post is to ensure the accurate management and running of all examinations, and maintain accurate pupil tracking data to assist leaders in raising standards.

Welcome from the Principal

Thank you for your interest in the vacancy at Outwood Academy Brumby.

As Principal, it's my privilege to introduce you to our academy of 750 friendly students in the heart of Scunthorpe. We are deeply committed to the pursuit of excellence and to nurturing the potential of every child and staff member. By 2028, we will be celebrating 10 years of making a difference in our community.

What distinguishes us is our incredible staff team, who share a strong belief in the transformative power of education. We thrive on making positive, supportive relationships with everyone and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth.

We are looking for inspirational, dedicated professionals who will add value both academically and through involvement in the fabric of learning beyond the classroom. If you share our passion for making a meaningful difference, we would be thrilled to welcome you to our team. I look forward to meeting you.

Responsibilities

The Officer manages all administrative and operational aspects of examinations, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with JCQ regulations. This includes managing the MIS for entries, liaising with boards, overseeing invigilation timetabling, training/supervising invigilators, and managing the security and distribution of examination papers and results.

The role also involves critical data management: coordinating the student census, using 'Praising Stars' for pupil tracking, undertaking statistical analysis of assessment data and trends for departmental managers and SLT, and producing reports to identify underachieving students. They provide all parents with student assessment data.

Qualifications

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline is essential. Essential experience includes working with statistical analysis, management information, and data collection, as well as assisting with or organising educational examinations. Candidates should possess the ability to effectively communicate, use standard ICT packages, particularly Excel, and work well under pressure while managing competing deadlines.
