What skills and experience we're looking for
As Interim Executive Headteacher, your primary focus will be to provide stability and continuity across the TIG Federation while driving forward existing school improvement priorities. Leading three successful schools, you will balance strategic leadership with day-to-day operational oversight, supporting staff, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, and ensuring pupils continue to thrive in a safe, inclusive and ambitious environment.
You will be a highly visible and approachable leader who is fully immersed in school life. Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community will come naturally to you. We are looking for someone who is proactive, accessible and present across all of our schools; a Headteacher who is known to children and families alike, and who leads by example through regular engagement in the day-to-day life of the Federation.
You will be supported by an experienced governing body, committed leadership teams across the schools, and colleagues within the wider North Yorkshire education community, ensuring you are well placed to make a meaningful impact from the outset.
What the school offers its staff
Our Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspirational school leader to join the TIG Federation as Executive Headteacher on a maternity cover basis. Leading three thriving primary schools (Kirk Hammerton CE, Staveley Community Primary and Long Marston CE), you will build on strong foundations, work alongside a committed staff team and governing body, and play a key role in ensuring every pupil continues to flourish. With a future inspection anticipated during the period of appointment, this role offers the chance to provide confident, strategic leadership while further developing the Federation's vision of "Togetherness Inspires Growth”
An important aspect of the role will be leading the federation through the next stage of curriculum development. This includes building on the existing strengths of our mixed-age curriculum and ensuring pupils continue to benefit from an ambitious, coherent and enriching educational experience in readiness for future national curriculum developments
At the heart of our Federation are strong relationships, supportive communities and a shared commitment to helping every child reach their full potential. Our schools are inclusive, nurturing and ambitious, with dedicated staff and governors working together to provide the very best outcomes for all pupils.
We can offer you:
- Three successful and well-regarded village schools, with delightful children who respect each other and have a thirst for learning.
- A culture which allows all staff to thrive and develop.
- An opportunity to build on secure foundations and positive inspection outcomes as well as shape the next phase of the federation's inclusion strategy.
- Significant levels of support from the Local Authority, Diocese, a Governing Board and a staff team who are experienced, committed and passionate about our school.
- A Governing Body committed to providing support on all matters including more sensitive or difficult issues and including the wellbeing of all staff members.
- The school is part of a Cluster where the Headteachers meet regularly. This provides a support network for sharing ideas and best practice.
