Explorers Leader (After school wraparound) job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic member of staff to support the running of Explorers, our after school wraparound provision for KS2 children (7-11). You will be delivering high-quality after-school wraparound care that provides a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children.

From 3.15-4.45pm, we offer our children a wide range of clubs which develop knowledge, skills and positive learning attitudes. These range from sports (hockey, archery, basketball, badminton, cross country running and much, much more) to a wider range of interests including creative areas (choir, macrame, mindfulness, art, British Sign Language, latch hooking, farm club and more) - what skills and areas of expertise / interests do you have to contribute to our offer?

Between 4.45pm - 6pm, children engage in wide-ranging free-choice activities based in our well-resourced Sycamore room. From pool to table tennis, outdoor play on our trim trail, mindfulness colouring, reading, hama beads, a wide stock of card and board games. The successful candidate must love to engage in quality play!

The explorers role will include managing the day-to-day operation of the provision, setting up registers on our online system, responding to parent enquiries, working alongside other explorers leaders, preparing light meals, and ensuring activities promote the children’s wellbeing and enjoyment. Food ordering takes place weekly, with choices of light tea being nutritious and varied - including home made smoothies, toasted bagels and sandwiches, yoghurts etc. The role requires someone who is friendly, organised and who wants to make a positive contribution to the children who attend Explorers. First aid training is required but can be provided. Previous experience working with a school environment is desirable, but not essential.

Simon Balle All-through School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
