Ludham Primary School and Nursery is situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads on a beautiful site, which includes our own woodland and established Forest School provision.

We are looking to appoint a high-quality, inspiring KS1 teacher and Music specialist to join our friendly and forward-thinking team for two days per week, Thursdays and Fridays.

The successful candidate will teach within Key Stage 1 as a 1-day a week teacher and will also bring their enthusiasm and expertise in Music to the wider school. We are looking for someone who can inspire children musically, build their confidence and enjoyment, and contribute to a rich, creative curriculum in which the arts are valued.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner, with high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement, while creating an environment in which children feel challenged, valued and secure. As a small community primary school, strong relationships matter to us, and the ability to build positive rapport with pupils, families, colleagues and the wider community is key.

A secure understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum and effective teaching and assessment practice is important. Experience of, or training in, the teaching of early reading and Read Write Inc. phonics would be desirable, although this is not essential.

We are a well-led, dynamic team where kindness and professionalism are paramount. Our staff work collaboratively to create a culture of ‘excellence through enjoyment’, with children experiencing a diverse, creative and irresistible curriculum. The appointed candidate will work closely with colleagues and will be supported through our commitment to high-quality professional development.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we continue our journey from Good to Great. Our school has a rising roll, our children are truly delightful, and we benefit from excellent resources and a well-established Forest School provision. We particularly value creative, solution-focused practice, outdoor learning and staff who are prepared to contribute their own interests and expertise to school life.

As our Music specialist, you will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to the musical life of Ludham, helping children develop their skills, confidence, creativity and enjoyment of music across the curriculum.

The successful candidate will be a genuine team player who is keen to take a full part in the wider life of this happy and busy school.

This post would suit an experienced teacher on the Main Pay Scale or a passionate Early Career Teacher with appropriate musical knowledge, skills and enthusiasm. Above all, we are looking for someone who shares our belief in the difference that an excellent primary education can make to children, families and the community we serve.

The successful candidate will be:

  • An excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners and pupil groups.
  • Knowledgeable about the KS1 National Curriculum, assessment and effective teaching and learning.
  • Confident and enthusiastic about teaching Music, with the skills to inspire children and contribute to musical opportunities across the school.
  • Child-centred and committed to the ethos and values of Ludham Primary School and Nursery.
  • A teacher who enjoys inspiring children through a creative, engaging and irresistible curriculum.
  • A reflective practitioner who understands that children have different starting points and is committed to adapting teaching to meet their needs.
  • An excellent team player who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the wider life of the school.
  • Keen to develop professionally, reflect upon their practice and continually strive for excellence.
  • Positive, solution-focused and organised, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.
  • Committed to building positive relationships with children, colleagues, parents and carers.

In return, we can offer you:

  • A forward-thinking, vibrant community school in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, within walking distance of How Hill and Bewilderwood.
  • Truly delightful, motivated children who are keen to learn.
  • The opportunity to make a real contribution to the musical and creative life of the school.
  • A highly supportive, enthusiastic and skilled team of teachers and support staff.
  • Opportunities to work collaboratively with other local primary schools through our well-established links.
  • Supportive parents and governors.
  • High-quality professional development opportunities.
  • A school where creativity, outdoor learning and excellence through enjoyment genuinely matter.

Visits to school are warmly encouraged. Please contact the school administrator to arrange a visit: office@ludham.norfolk.sch.uk
