St John’s is part of Medway Anglican Schools Trust; this means there is opportunity for:

  • Collaboration with EYFS teams across other Trust schools
  • Shared expertise and high-quality professional development
  • A strong commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice
  • Opportunities for leadership development at all career stages

Our EYFS practice is rooted in a language-rich environment, high-quality interactions, purposeful continuous provision.

At St John’s, we believe in having high expectations for everyone—children and adults alike. We want every child to feel valued, to grow in confidence, and to leave us as polite, independent and resilient learners, equipped with the skills, knowledge and values they need for the next stage of their journey.

Our two school values, faith and love, sit at the heart of everything we do. We encourage our children and staff to live these values every day, especially when they face challenges, helping them to develop kindness, courage and strength of character.

The Role

As an Early Years Class Teacher, you will:

  • Create a warm, purposeful and enabling environment that supports curiosity, independence and wellbeing
  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and continuous provision grounded in strong EYFS pedagogy
  • Use observation and assessment responsively to shape learning and next steps
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across school and the Trust to ensure coherence and consistency
  • Build positive relationships with families and communicate children’s progress clearly

The successful candidate will possess excellent EYFS knowledge, high quality teaching skills, good communication and teamwork skills and demonstrate a desire to support CPD and their own professional development.

We will expect you to want the best for pupils, have high expectations and want to make a difference. We welcome applications from experienced professionals who wish to progress their career in a rich learning environment and are supportive of our aims and vision for the school.
