Facilities Apprentice job summary
As a Facilities Apprentice you will support the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the school/site by assisting with a range of facilities, caretaking, maintenance, and cleaning duties while completing a Level 2 Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship. The apprentice will work under supervision, developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to maintain safe, clean, and well-functioning environments.
The role will be based across two of our school sites, Briscoe Primary School & Nursery in Basildon and Waterman Primary School in Rochford.
The role will include:
- Facilities support and maintenance - carrying out basic and reactive maintenance tasks and basic grounds maintenance
- Cleaning / site preparation to a high standard
- Health, safety and compliance - adhering to Health & Safety policies, carrying out routine safety checks, safe use of equipment and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses
- Security / Site operations
- Dealing with contractors and receiving deliveries
- Learning and development - completion of the Level 2 Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship course and any further relevant training
We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and is willing to learn through both hands on experience and completion of the Apprenticeship Level 2 standard. You will be computer literate and be able to move across the two sites (by car or public transport).
