Facilities Manager job summary
Woodlands Secondary School is large, vibrant special needs secondary school looking to recruit a proactive and experienced Facilities Manager. We believe that learning in school should inspire, support and empower our young people to achieve their full potential so that they can become successful adults. The role of the Facilities Manager is paramount to ensure that our school remains safe, secure and well maintained for students, staff and visitors.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of successful site management with a strategic focus. We are embarking on an exciting chapter where we will be expanding to a second site and are looking for the right candidate to support us on this journey.
Key responsibilities are:
- Management of the site and cleaning teams
- Health and Safety and statutory compliance
- Project and contractor management
- Site related budget responsibility and income generation through lettings management
- Championing sustainability/ environmental efficiency
- To provide expertise on all aspects of facilities and premises related work
- To work alongside the School Business Manager in establishing a robust site development plan that aligns with the school improvement plan, school values and vision
An IOSH qualification is desireable for this role, if not currently held, candidates must be willing to complete this qualification whilst in post.
