At King’s Bolton, safeguarding and student wellbeing are central to our work. In this role, you will support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in maintaining a strong safeguarding culture across the academy while working closely with students, families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and ensure that every child is safe, supported and able to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure safeguarding across the academy is effective and compliant, deputising in their absence and responding to safeguarding concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records and contribute to safeguarding meetings including Child Protection, Child in Need and Early Help.
  • Work with external agencies and support families through Early Help, acting as Lead Professional where appropriate and signposting to relevant services.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, including meetings and home visits, to address barriers to attendance, wellbeing and learning.
  • Support vulnerable students’ emotional wellbeing and contribute to support plans and family guidance.
  • Monitor attendance, carry out first-day absence calls and work with pastoral teams to address barriers to attendance.
  • Maintain professional standards, safeguarding training and confidentiality, and undertake duties as reasonably assigned by the Principal.
